Do you want to have fun while getting your CEU's? Spend a weekend with Pete Whitridge exploring the art of myofascial therapies. You will receive lots of bodywork, learn new ways to handle clients with chronic pain, and reconnect with fellow massage therapists. The myofascial release series consists of five different workshops. Each workshop is an independent whole and may be taken individually. These workshops will help you to:
- Refine your touching skills and gain new confidence.
- Teach your clients to work with you during therapy.
- Eliminate chronic pain by working below the client's pain threshold.
- Slow down, focus your attention, and be more effective with less effort.
Workshop Concentration:
The head, neck and shoulder pain workshop focus on the "Responsibility Center". We will focus on the scapulae, shoulder girdle, brachial plexus, cervical ligaments and mandible. This is a multi-disciplinary approach to chronic pain. We will use orthopedic assessments, passive and active fascial stretching, muscle energy techniques, hydrotherapies, and cross fiber friction, to help identify and eliminate pain and dysfunction. Healing is a partnership between the client and the therapist. We will also use self-care strategies to help clients maintain pain free movement. Avoid burnout; learn to help your clients help themselves!
