Joni, specializing in Trauma recovery, has an extensive education that includes a master’s degree in body psychotherapy from Naropa University and a bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Massachusetts. She graduated from SSMT in 1990, and in 2005 she completed an extensive course in massage therapy education at the Body Therapy Institute.
Joni served as the Education Director at SSMT from 1994-2005, and again from 2009-1010. She teaches Swedish massage, pathology, ethics, massage for trauma, and present-centered awareness. She brings more than 26 years of experience as a bodyworker, teacher, and registered nurse to her teaching, her Trauma and Thai massage seminars, and her private practice. Her passion is working with Veterans and others who have suffered from traumatic events in their lives.
