Fijian Barefoot Massage To Go is a mobile adaptation of Fijian Massage requiring minimal equipment and supplies. These deep tissue techniques have been handed down from generation to generation in the remote villages of the islands of Fiji. The focus of the class is on the back, shoulders, and gluteals and is great for sporting events, family settings, as well as your massage office. Therapists use different parts of their feet to effectively massage clients who are lying on the floor. It does not include walking on the client’s back. All strokes can be performed while standing, sitting on a chair or sofa, or reclining on the floor. The weight of your leg gauges the pressure. No hands, arms or shoulders are ever used, making it truly a hands-saving technique that can add to your career longevity. In addition, most clients prefer the heel of the foot pressure over that of the elbow. This is a “feets-on” workshop with demonstration and practice.
Special Instructions and What to Bring: A flat sheet for the floor, 3 standard size pillows, 2 large bath towels, 1 hand towel and an armless chair without wheels (if not provided at the venue). Please wear loose cotton clothing, but no jeans. T- shirts and lightweight sweatshirts are best and to have a collar if possible. No straps or zippers.
Class is held from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm. NCBTMB approved course.
