This class will review the 3 basic techniques from the Introduction workshop, and then add the other 3 advanced techniques focusing more on the Lower Body. This is also a 16 hour CE workshop with Chris Dux, exploring a variety of Muscle Energy Techniques, commonly called MET. The workshop is based mostly on the work of Dr. Leon Chaitow ND, DO. Dr. Chaitow is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Westminster in London, UK, and has written many books and does training seminars.
Class will have a nice mix of discussion of anatomy and physiology, demonstrations and plenty of hands on of various ways and areas to utilize MET. MET includes Post Isometric Relaxation (PIR), Reciprocal Inhibition (RI) and Positional Release and variations of isometric and isotonic movements, along with positioning. MET can help relieve pain and increase mobility and function. MET participation of clients can help with more efficient neuromuscular communication, reduction of pain during treatment and can reduce damage to the therapists' body.
