Introduction to Muscle Energy Techniques

January 28 - 29, 2023

$295.00

This class explores a variety of Muscle Energy Techniques, commonly called MET. The workshop is based mostly on the work of acclaimed osteopath Leon Chaitow ND, DO, Senior Lecturer at the University of Westminster in London. Doctor Chaitow has written and lectured extensively on these techniques.

The class will have a satisfying mix of discussions of anatomy and physiology, demonstrations, and plenty of hands-on practice of various ways and areas to utilize MET. MET includes Post Isometric Relaxation (PIR), Reciprocal Inhibition (RI), Positional Release, and variations of isometric and isotonic movements along with positioning. MET can help relieve pain and increase mobility and function. MET participation of a client can help with more efficient neuromuscular communication, reduction of pain during treatment, and can prevent injury to the therapist.
