Chris Dux, LMT
Chris began massage school in 1992 at Health Enrichment Center of Michigan, and went on to complete a 5,000 hour Master Bodywork Therapist diploma program. He was Director of the Indiana campus of Health Enrichment Center and taught there for four years as a Senior Instructor. Chris also has spent five years in a world class spa in Bermuda as Lead Therapist. Chris came to Sarasota School of Massage Therapy in January 2005, and is now teaching A&P, practice management, hydrotherapy, seated massage, and a stretching class.

Ann Maxwell, BSN, LMT
Ann graduated with a Bachelors Degree in nursing in 1985. After working 18 years at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Ann came to school at SSMT and graduated in 2003. In 2004, she completed her Healing Touch Practitioner certification and joined other therapists in opening the I AM Healing Arts Center. She has been teaching pathology and A&P here at the school since 2006.

Susan Farhat, A.S., LMT
Susan, a graduate of Becker College, holds an A.S. degree in social work and is also a 2002 graduate of SSMT. She started teaching at SSMT in 2006, bringing with her three years of experience in sports therapy from a rehabilitation center in Bradenton, FL. She teaches Swedish massage, hydrotherapy, and supervises clinic at the school. Susan also likes people to know she has a great husband, 3 beautiful children, and a beagle named “Bad Dog Fred.”

Shannon O’Reilly, LMT, RYT
A licensed massage therapist since 2003, Shannon’s practice includes Neuromuscular Therapy, LaStone Therapy, and Swedish massage. Shannon is a graduate of the Massage Institute of Cape Cod. At SSMT, she assists in Swedish massage and Myology practicum. Shannon is also a certified yoga instructor with the Yoga Alliance and introduces yoga to the Swedish class.

Yusef Barnes, D.C.
Yusef graduated from New York Chiropractic College in 1997. After teaching at the school for the next two years while running a chiropractic office, he moved to North Carolina in 1999 and ran two offices for 7 years. In 2006, he moved to Florida where he currently runs two chiropractic offices besides teaching Practice Management at SSMT.

Stephanie Vanover, A.S., LMT
Stephanie is a 1986 graduate of Williamsport School of Commerce in PA with an Associates Degree in Specialized Business. She graduated from Florida College of Natural Health, Miami, FL in March 1998 and has been a FL state licensed massage therapist since May 1998. A current member of the FSMTA, she served as the liason for the Manatee Chamber of Commerce in 2002-2003. Stephanie maintains a private practice in Bradenton, FL with certifications in massage cupping, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, ah~shiatsu, and neuromuscular therapies. Stephanie is currently teaching Swedish practicum and is a teaching assistant for Swedish Massage.

Jennifer Clarkson, LMT, CNMT
Jennifer is a 2002 graduate of Rollins College with a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance and Composition. She graduated from SSMT in December of 2003 and has been a licensed massage therapist since February 2004. Jennifer has advanced certifications in Neuromuscular Therapy and Integrative Pregnancy Massage. In her private practice, Whitewave Bodywork, Jennifer specializes in Sports Massage related techniques including: Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, PNF and Active-Isolated Stretching. Jennifer is currently the Vice President and Sports Massage Chairperson for the Sarasota/Manatee Chapter of the Florida State Massage Therapy Association. She was named FSMTA’s Sports Team Member of the Year in 2005 & 2008, and Sports Massage Therapist of the Year for the State of Florida, in 2006.
