October 28 - 29, 2017
Introducing a brand new bodywork modality that brings together rocking, fascial release, compression massage, movement, stretching and high energy music. The Rockaway Method is a holistic approach to working with your client that is more fun to perform than any other modality! During the session, you will feel so connected to your client that the movements will feel like a well-orchestrated dance where one technique flows into the next as you move to the rhythm of the music. After a session, your client will feel fantastic and you will feel energized. It is unlike anything you have ever studied and has been acclaimed as being more effective for pain relief than massage alone or even physical therapy! This technique has the power to unlock stubborn pain, stiffness or tightness and bring your client from a 5 or above pain level down to 0 during their first session! Plus it has been shown to substantially increase range of motion in stiff joints. Your clients will rave about the difference you’ve made in their lives and will want to tell their friends about you!
In the Foundation Course, you will learn the basic method that you can incorporate into a regular massage session, and you will also learn self-treatment techniques, and practice-building techniques. After taking the Foundation, Upper Body, Lower Body and Seated Client Techniques Courses, you will be eligible to become a Certified Rockaway Therapist yourself!
This 14 CEU course is the prerequisite for all other Rockaway Courses. In this course, you will learn:
How to identify and unlock tight muscles, joints and connective tissue in the body
How to incorporate gentle rocking and muscle stretching into your current sessions
How to increase your clients’ range of motion
How to reduce and often eliminate your clients’ muscular pain, even in deep tissues
How to build your practice and attract new clients using this technique
